What We Offer. Here at Rising Stars Academy of Dance based in 2 Leicester locations, offer a wide range of dance styles taught by highly trained and experienced teachers in their genre who are passionate about passing their knowledge on to future generations.
Classes are suitable for all ages from 2 years, and are tailored age appropriately to provide a balanced approach that emphasises on technique, performance and fun! We follow the International Dance Teacher Association (IDTA) exam board and take exams in all styles to show progression and development.
The dance styles we teach are:
Ballet Dancing – the foundation of all dance. A class which builds strength, flexibility and precision, as well as instilling artistry, musicality and poise which can be carried through to all dance styles.
Tap Dance – this is a dynamic and energetic dance form where dancers use their feet as instruments to create rhythms and sounds.
Contemporary Modern Jazz -an expressive style of dance that incorporates jazz technique in a creative and explorative way.
Acro – a class that combines dance with acrobatics. This class focusses on strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination in a safe environment to achieve floor based acro moves.
Street dance – a popular genre which incorporates a variety of dance styles including hip-hop, funk and freestyle moves, to current chart music. A fun class for all ages and abilities!
Festivals and Competitions
As well as core classes, we have our own festival team that compete at competitions across Leicestershire 3 times a year. These classes focus on technique, choreography and performance skills for students that want even more dance!
Nurseries and Primary Schools
As well as dance classes outside school hours, we offer dance classes in nurseries and primary Schools across Leicester. We run lunch time clubs, after school clubs, and PPA cover to suit a variety of needs and abilities.
